Anthony Whitaker is a strategic planner and business manager with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors.
From 1989 to 2004 Anthony worked in a range of State and Local Government roles; including public health planning, community planning, economic development and urban planning. From 2004 to 2007 Anthony was employed as a Senior Consultant with national consulting firm SGS Economics and Planning. He is now employed as a sole consultant and Associate to Southwell Murphy and Associates.
Anthony has a strong background in general management, having worked as a team leader in Brisbane City Council (Economic Development and Community Development) and Practice Manager with SGS. He is experienced at managing multidisciplinary work teams, program development and monitoring and business planning.
Anthony’s key skills are in the areas of strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, organisational development, and project management. Anthony has facilitated many strategic planning processes for corporate, government and NGO clients. He has high level presentation and facilitation skills and is highly experienced at conducting stakeholder forums with diverse clients; including workshops, public forums, focus groups and interviews. Anthony is a highly experienced project manager, including the management of multiple and complex projects.
Anthony also has experience and skills in program management and evaluation and has conducted high level evaluations on behalf of the Queensland Government in the areas of housing and social policy.
Anthony holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor degrees in the Applied Sciences (Biology and Environmental Health).
